Just a quickie today – last night, I finished off my first Invictor warsuit, destined for the third company of (all-Phobos) Ultramarines…

To be honest, there is not a great deal to say about this model. It goes together easily and, like all our favourite models, paints quickly – it has been a while since I have painted up a Redemptor, so my memory may be playing tricks, but it ‘felt’ quicker and easier to paint despite the exposed pilot (do not glue that cage on until the pilot is completely painted!).

For the third company, I am using Invictors in place of Dreadnoughts (no ‘stealthy’ Redemptors – yet) and planned on going light on them, so I am likely to do just one more in the future and then call the support units for this company done. This one has been marked as having come from the tenth squad, which I have already painted up as a unit of three Eliminaters, so I figure there are at least a couple of marines from that squad looking for something useful to do…

I am still trying to keep my model building low at the moment, as I want to be able to dive straight into the Horus Heresy material when it is released in a couple of weeks or so, but we have an extended bank holiday coming up in the UK, which will give opportunity to get some ‘real’ painting done.

To that end, I am just finishing off a ‘custom’ test unit for the Heresy (should be able to showcase that early next week, all going well), and I want to polish off an artillery squadron for the Ultramar Auxilia before the bank holiday begins.

At that point, I think the Chaos Knights of House Slughorn might just call upon me to add another corrupted noble to their ranks…
